![]() Over this past half decade, Scraps & Skeins has grown from a single showroom and storeroom into the six-room shop and workspace we now occupy behind Strawberry Fields’ administrative office. After testing the idea at a few craft fairs, we officially opened our doors in January 2015. ![]() ![]() Clinging to the vision, these inaugural volunteers recruited more volunteers and solicited donations from the open-hearted needlewomen of Centre County. With the blessing of the Board of Directors of Strawberry Fields, our “founding mothers” began the story and store that is Scraps & Skeins. In the summer 2014, a small group of women gathered to mull over the idea of creating a creative reuse shop with the mission of developing employment opportunities for adults in recovery of mental illness.
